Featured Piece - February 2008 (posted 2/20)

 Skeleton Bowl with Portal (2008)

 4 ¾ in. height by 5 ¼ width
Douglas Fir: turned, sandcarved.

These piece is a recent piece from my Bones of the Tree series.  With this piece, all the "flesh" of the vessel has been removed except for the diagonal band and the foot.

For more about my sandcarved pieces you can go here, but for the context of this feature I will simply let each person interpret this piece on their own.

This piece will be exhibited and available in the del Mano Gallery Small Treasures 2008 exhibition.
